Digital Photo Day
by: Roger Lewis.
A Digital Photo Day, well every few days that's what will appear on this page.
Never be without your digital camera and you will have an endless digital image library stock and it will surprise you the number of images you can achieve as you encounter each day!
If you like the idea of this, try to set aside half an hour or so every few days, for example turn up early to appointments, especially if your in a differant town and go take a shot or two while you wait for the appointment time to arrive.
Mailing a letter, grab your digital slr camera and walk to the post office and above all when your in differant part of the world away from your normal routine, you will be surprised how fine tuned your eye becomes to a digital photography opportunity, simply because you want to record it.
How to turn a mundane digital image into an art form... Well lets not get too carried away, but what I mean is simply look for a differant angle, apart from the conventional view.
Allow the weather conditions to help your photo shoot, for example it's about to rain and before you make a run for it, there just might just be the greatest cloud formation above you, grab that photo before the moments lost and your running for cover...
Always try for a dramatic angle of view, or include some foreground interest to what might have been a conventional view of a stately home or place of interest and if you are able to not only include some foreground interest, but a dramatic cloud effect as well, you've got it made...
If your including people in your digital photos and they are close enough to be recognizable, it would be best to approach them and explain that while taking your picture they might have been in a part of it and see if you can agree on some kind of understanding, swooping details with each other in case you digital image might get published. You can of course, always alter or defuse their faces afterwords in programme on your PC like PhotoShop.
About the above Image: "To Shoot or not to Shoot, that is the question, Weather tis Nobeler to get soaked in the rain for the sake of a great Image"...
You see it coming, the picture and the rain and the decision to stand my ground and shoot this image was well worth it... It's just one frame only and here it is.
Digital SLR Photography is the biggest thing that has made this type of photography more possible than years back and being able to shoot a digital photo, checking your results on the spot making any necessary adjustments, without having to worry about the high cost of processing your film, especially if your happen to be a bit trigger happy.
The digital camera and in fact almost any type of digital slr or compact camera, is the ideal camera for the job and with to days lightweight cameras, it's never been easier to produce a masterpiece or two!
If your planning a vacation make sure you take your new Digital Camera with you for the family photos. However, if you are still looking to buy a new digital camera, check out the info and ads you will find on this site and watch out for the many special offers available.
Digital SLR Photography - How To Take Stunning, Lively And Ravishing Pictures

Intro by Roger Lewis
"Digital SLR photography churns out the most amazingly realistic photographs," the words of author Connie Fillmore, and I entirely agree with her.
In just over a decade, Digital Photography has turned photography on it's head and as a semi retired, Pro Photographer myself there has been some changes in my lifetime, you better believe it!
Take for example the image above, (it may well be a differant image when you get to reading this), It is, or was titled: Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, UK. © 2007/8 Roger Lewis www.Digital-Camera-best.com.
The last time I was at Kenwood House was back in 1970, shooting fashion pictures for a magazine, using a 5"x4" inch. view camera, with Kodak Ektachrome color transparency sheet film, in the days when I was a popular young 'trendy' London fashion photographer.
To day I use a Digital Camera most of the time, this will not necessarily guarantee you instant success, but it will, as sure as hell, cut your learning curve.
Well what has changed, a heck of a lot, please read on.
Digital SLR Photography - How To Take Stunning, Lively And Ravishing Pictures. by: Connie Fillmore
Photography is digital SLR photography, at least to any self-respecting photographer. Suggest otherwise, and he is sure to give you a piece of his mind and proceed to praise the virtues of digital SLR photography.
Digital SLR photography uses a digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera that uses a movable mirror placed between the lens and the film to project the image on to a focusing screen.
Digital SLR photography churns out the most amazingly realistic photographs, in fact much better than the ones turned out by the conventional fixed lens cameras. But its prime appeal to photographers, both amateur and professional, is in the fact that he can work out a large amount of control over how his pictures end up as.
Digital SLR photography is all about customized photographs that are stunning to look at, to say the least. This is because the cameras come with extremely good lenses. This is why the discerning photographers are not miserly about getting a lens, frightfully expensive they may be.
However, digital SLR photography enthusiasts should never think that a swanky Nikon or a Canon is the passport to great photography. The apparatus notwithstanding, good photography depends a lot on the skills of the person brandishing the camera. The basics of digital SLR photography are not hard to pick up.
The first and foremost tip about digital SLR photography is to equip yourself with the nitty-gritty of lighting. If you are shooting outdoors during the day it is best to have the sun directly behind you. It is also essential that your subject also does not have to face the sun so that he has to squint. You should know that the best time to film landscapes, buildings and outdoor portraits is either dawn or the twilight hours.
If you want to impart the warmth of the rising or setting sun to your midday photo shoot, then a skylight or a warm filter is your key.
Tips to great digital SLR photography insist on maintaining control over the camera's flash property. To be precise, don't have your camera have the last word about where the flash should come on. Take the reins yourself and ensure that your photograph subjects are not lost in a maze of bright light.
Good photography, digital or analog, SLR or otherwise, is all about being able to use the filters right. You never know when that polarizer or the gradual filter or the skylight/UV filter might come to your rescue at times when the light situations are tricky.
The Macro Mode atop the camera just happens to be the most underrated and under-used feature. But unknown to many, this mode is great for taking enchanting close-ups of tiny objects.
Realistic and stunning digital photography is actually the norm with plethora of controls that come with modern day digital SLR cameras. And photography tips harp on tinkering with the controls to get a hang of the controls and the outcomes they produce.
Experimenting for instance, with really slow (30 seconds) extremely fast (1000th-8000th/second) shutter speeds can produce dramatic results. The ISO setting is another area for experimentation. In fact, high ISO values come in quite handy when you cannot use a flash in low light situations.
Get well up on your digital SLR photography tips and tricks and shoot at sight willingly.
